TECO 2030 offers unique green career opportunities in the heart of Arctic nature

TECO 2030 is starting up a tech adventure in Narvik, Norway. Now you have the opportunity to contribute to the construction of a green hydrogen adventure in the high north – where both an urban city centre and magnificent nature awaits right outside your place of work.

There are a few completely unique places in the world, where outstanding career opportunities can be combined with living the good life close to nature.

The January day is as blue and beautiful as only January days in the north can be.

The view over the city, the fjord and the mighty mountains can hardly be described.

The glow of the twinkling full moon lights up the entire winter land and shows how the fjords in the area wind their way between steep mountain sides and around smooth-cut headlands.

In sheltered coves under the mountain on the other side of the fjord, small clusters of houses and cabins have huddled together, as if to keep each other warm and company.

Even though the thermometer shows blue degrees of cold, the sweat is trickling under the innermost layer of your woollen clothing.

You need to stop to open the zip at the neck of your jacket. As you tilt your head back, you can see the famous Aurora dancing across the sky in the north-west.

Just 200 meters more, and you can reward yourself with a coffee and a waffle at Narvik’s highest restaurant location, the Cable Car Restaurant.

Only a short hour has passed since you left the office, and now you are directly below the first peak of the 1273 meter high Narvikfjellet, which literally shoots up from the fjord below.

Green pioneering initiative

We are now seeking the attention of potential employees who value nature and desire to take part in our green pioneering initiative.

In Narvik, TECO 2030 is well underway with the construction of Europe’s first large-scale production of hydrogen fuel cell systems for maritime use, and we are now staffing several departments.

Part of the Innovation Center

As an employee of TECO 2030, you will be part of a leading green innovation center that will work every day to find tomorrow’s technology and systems.

The premises in Narvik are a whopping 15,500 square metres, but the plans that fill these spaces are, if possible, even larger: In 2030, there may be several hundred employees who together ensure the production of well over 1 gigawatt with hydrogen-based fuel cells. Foto: Michael Ulriksen

Our main focus is on developing innovative and cost-effective solutions to reduce the ecological impact of maritime activity. A job that will increase competitiveness and job satisfaction for both us and our customers.

The first simple production will start up during the first half of 2023, while the larger fully automated lines will be ready for production during 2024.

The adventure is just an email away

Our adventure in the north started with a cool email from business developers in Narvik:

We have a factory. Please bring a coffee machine.

TECO 2030’s factory location in Narvik is idyllically situated between fjords and mountains.

The very next day we travelled to visit the forward-leaning northerners.

Now your potential adventure in the north is also just a short email away.

If we use Narvik’s own method of progress and reformulate it slightly, we have the following message for you:

Ten years after Rec ScanCell shut down solar cell production in Narvik, the building in the Teknologibyen district in Narvik will once again be filled with green industry. Safety and quality manager Rune Karlsen knows the building well, as he was employed by Rec. Foto: Michael Ulriksen

We have a vacant position for you. Please bring your hiking boots.

When your working day is over, you are just minutes away from our world-renowned ‘backyard’ with mountain peaks, nature, and views that people come from all over the globe to see.

Staffing has only just begun, and today’s 13 names will now almost double over the coming year.

Imagine such a spectacular and unique combination. The green transition in the north did not just come to Narvik. In many ways it started here.

On a mission towards zero emission
TECO 2030 accelerates the green transition in the maritime sector by delivering technology that helps ships to reduce their environmental and climate impacts. We are developing hydrogen fuel cells that enable ships and other heavy-duty applications to become emission-free. The company is also developing other solutions that can help the maritime industry to reduce its emissions, such as exhaust gas cleaning and carbon capture systems for ships. TECO 2030 was founded in 2019 and is headquartered at Lysaker, Norway. The company is listed on Euronext Growth on Oslo Stock Exchange.

TECO 2030 Innovation Center AS is a subsidiary of TECO 2030 ASA. The Innovation Center, which is currently under construction in Narvik, Norway, will be Europe’s first gigafactory facility for production of hydrogen-based fuel cells. Our fuel cell production target is 400MW in 2025, which is to be scaled up to 1.6GW in 2030.
